Waves of Power: Planned Parenthood vs. NRA

Competing Waves of Power Between the Masculine and the Feminine can be Seen in the Battle Between Planned Parenthood and the NRA, in religion (see Abrahamic Religions blog post), in each individual’s marriage, and in other systems.

I contend that in the rise and fall of civilizations (prehistoric/Egyptian/Greek/Roman/Catholicism/Great Britain/America/etc.) the masculine group pushes ahead by enforcing the territorial imperative. This method produces a necessary yet short-term gain that provides protection, and is more powerful than the slowly-evolving and long-term productive feminine humility and acceptance, which provides security from intimacy. But all things are mortal, security becomes boring and starts the swing to the masculine, which is only a one-trick pony being territorial possession, which is an exciting new beginning.

Symbolic Illustration of Gender Power Waves

This graph is a symbolic representation of the relationship between the waves of masculine and feminine influence. The former is represented by the blue function, characterized by high-intensity peaks of influence, yet a short span of time. The feminine influence is represented by the pink function, which spans over a long amount of time, even thought the immediate impact of the influence is not quite as ample as the masculine function. The purple function is designed to exemplify the addition of both waves of power, combining the strong masculine impact with the persistent feminine influence.

A. The magnitude of security and trust in the system is observed to have a total value equal to the difference between the baseline of the graph and the maximum value of the purple function.

B. The differences from the baseline of the graph to the positive and negative extrema of the blue function represent the impact of masculine power.

C. The positive values of the blue function include excitement as its predominantly emotional value.

D. The negative values of the blue function represent the presence of the Jungian shadow self of the masculine power, which creates the energy for the need of attachment and intimacy.

E. The differences from the baseline of the graph to the positive values of the pink function represent the long term impact of feminine power, which is that of connection, intimacy, and trust.

As the feminine wave of power grows in influence, progress is made in some areas of societal development. However, these improvements may be taken advantage of. For example, as the feminine power breeds trust, the masculine influence may misuse that trust to abuse the system and the individuals within it.

In the Case of a Typical Individual Marriage:

In the American Judo-Christian world, there are rules for adolescents to follow that help establish intimate relationships that will be optimal to the continuation of the species. It is the masculine’s role to approach the feminine, and the feminine role to accept or refuse the individual (observe the courting rituals of birds of paradise). This approach produces excitement. In humans, the power of sexual orgasm leads to intimacy and fusion between the masculine and the feminine; then once there is offspring, it was typical for the man as the masculine to protect the home and provide for it. And the woman, the feminine, to grow and nurture the child, as well as supporting the man. Once intimacy and trust are established, the sexual excitement necessary for intimacy decreases in the masculine, but sexual excitement leading to protection does not decrease in the feminine, and the battle is on.

One must remember that males have a large feminine side, and females a large masculine side, so in any one marriage it would be very difficult to determine whoever is representing each role.

  • The masculine assumes protective role of the feminine through the territorial imperative.
  • The feminine develops the offspring to represent the integration of both roles with the male children tending to adopt a masculine role, and female children adopting a feminine role. (not necessarily)
  • In the current generations there are many modern models of family structures, including single-parent households and work-from-home parents. Due to this, many women take on more of the masculine role, and men take on more of the feminine role.

Division in Masculine and Feminine Roles:

Symbolically as always, the Greeks showed examples of opposing forces in the world, and for our subject of masculine v. feminine power, Aristophanes gives us his Greek version in Lysistrata. In this play, the feminine has to take charge of the masculine by denial of its succor to the masculine to produce peace and some harmony back to their masculine cohorts. Of course, this is done by denying sex to the masculine, which is the reason for its territorial possessions. This produces a rebalancing of energy in the world, and prepares it for the next masculine tirade.

In our times, the feminist movement can be seen with Planned Parenthood battling with the NRA. Again, the essentials of the male and female desires. The current battle appears to be fought out in the political arena, and who can raise the most money to influence the most people. or all intents and purposes, the civilized world seems to become stronger in feminine power, at least there are more women in powerful positions. As far as occupations, what used to be almost completely male occupations are now increasingly female. When I went to medical school there were only four women in my class, now there are classes that are more than 50% women. I don’t know the statistics, but you see a lot more male nurses and nursing students. I would see this as a movement towards feminine power and away from the masculine, and certainly a positive.
